I love film noir. I love the glamour, the witty exchanges, the often corny but satisfying endings, the stunning starlets with their cigarettes and red lipstick. I recall watching a film noir huddled in the corner of the college dining room trying to drown out the noise. The cool kids were loudly comparing their celebrity crushes.
Tyler* “Hahaha, what the f are you watching?”
Me “Um, The Dark Corner?”
Tyler “Year 1939?”
Cue everyone laughing and rolling their eyes.
Let them laugh. You and I know that film noir is The Golden Age of Hollywood. Here is a collection of free, easy-to-watch films that I binge watched on those cold, lonely nights. I love picking a new one for a solo date night-in. I usually cuddle in my bed with some candles, tea, and a fluffy something. These movies feel like home to me and I hope they make you feel warmer too.
P.S. @ChrisTNoir is one of the best film noir channels on YouTube if you want a deeper dive in.
